Tagging Instructions
**We reserve the right to pull the item if it is not properly prepared**

Hanging

  • Clothing must be on hangers with the hook turned to the right shoulder of the garment. If you are looking at the garment the hook is open to the left.
  • If shirts are tending to fall of the hanger, please secure with safety pins as well.
  • Pants & skirts can be secured to the top of the hangers using safety pins so they may be viewed better.
  • Clothing sells best when pressed, buttons buttoned, and zippers zipped.Plea
  • Please use small hangers on small clothing & larger hangers for larger clothing. This will help your garments sale better.
  • Below is a picture with the pins & tags in correct location.
 Tags

  • Use a 3" x 5" index card to tag all items.
  • Safety pin the card to the left breast of the garment. (If you are facing the garment it will be on the right.) Refer to picture above for correct placement.
  • When tagging large items place the index card inside a zip-loc bag and then secure the bag on all sides to the item.
  • Pins should be placed vertically with the sharp end only piercing the card once; making sure they are deep enoug to keep the card attached to the garment. This makes for quicker tearing off of the cards during checkout & the lines move faster.

Pricing

  • A general rule for pricing your item is to figure out 30-40% of what you originally paid. The condition of the item will raise or lower that figure.
  • Use ONLY whole dollar increments ( This means no items under $1.00 & no half dollars.)
  • Try to price items at prices you would purchase that item for.

Bagging

  • Zip-lock bags are great for toys with small parts. Place small pieces in a bag then secure the bag to the toy with packing tape.
  • Shoes must be in great condition. Children shoes sizes 9 & under must be placed in zip-loc bags with tag  placed inside. All other should be secured together and tag secured with safety pin.
  • Zipper bags are great for bedding, books, bulk items, accessories and anything else that needs to stay together.
  • Clear bags are great ideas!

Constructing Tags

  • A description of the item is placed in the center of the card. Try to be as informative about the garment as possible. (Gap Overalls Boys). Use gender if the item looks to be either.
  • The size should be written in the top right hand corner of the tag. (3-6m, 2T, Large, etc.)
  • Your consignor number should be in the top left hand corner.
  • Prices should be written in the bottom right hand corner.
  • If you do not wish your item to be discounted to half price on 1/2 price Saturday, place ND beside the price. Remember this is optional. Many shoppers are looking for bargins. If they see the item without an ND, those items tend to sell better at full price because they don't want to wait until it goes 1/2 price & lose the opportunity to purchase that item.
  • Please make your cards readable!!!!!!!! If we are unable to read a price, you may get less for an item than you intended.
  • Refer to picture below, this shows how each one should appear.
